Private Health

Some portions of dental care and services can be covered by private health insurance.

For more information visit the Commonwealth Ombudsman, learn more about and review the different policies available at www.privatehealth.gov.au, or contact your health fund directly.

Hospital Vouchers

In certain cases, people on a waiting list for public dental treatment may be offered a voucher for treatment in private dental practices. Contact your local hospital and health service to find out if you could be included in this program.

Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) Vouchers

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) will fund all dental services, provided under DVA arrangements, necessary to meet a clinical need for Veteran Gold Card holders. For Veteran White Card holders, dental treatment can be provided in relation to accepted disabilities.

For Veteran White Card holders, confirm your treatment eligibility by calling DVA.
